The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has congratulated the Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, on the occasion of his fifth coronation anniversary.
Guwor described the five-year reign of the monarch as a period marked by purposeful leadership, peace-building, cultural resurgence and a sustained commitment to the unity and development of the Itsekiri people.
The Speaker, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, said the fifth anniversary represented a significant milestone that symbolised continuity, tradition and stability in the ancient Warri Kingdom.
According to him, the Olu’s reign has restored dignity and renewed relevance to the traditional institution while promoting development within his domain and contributing to the progress of Delta State and Nigeria.
Guwor said the monarch’s leadership had demonstrated stability, vision and values that complement the MORE Agenda of the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, particularly in strengthening collaboration between traditional institutions and government.
He commended Ogiame Atuwatse III for his advocacy in the areas of peace-building, youth empowerment, education and economic development, describing the monarch’s vision for a prosperous and united Delta as consistent with the principles of good governance and democratic development.
“As Speaker and member representing Warri South West Constituency, I celebrate a reign that has brought dignity to the throne of the Itsekiri Nation and has strengthened collaboration between the traditional institution and government,” Guwor said.
The Speaker joined millions of well-wishers in celebrating the monarch, noting that the five-year milestone provides an opportunity to reflect on the Olu’s contributions to the peace, unity and development of his people.
Guwor, on behalf of the leadership and members of the Delta State House of Assembly as well as the people of Warri South West Constituency, prayed for long life, good health, wisdom and a peaceful and glorious reign for the monarch.
He also wished Ogiame Atuwatse III and the entire Itsekiri nation a joyous and memorable fifth coronation anniversary, with many more years of wisdom and service to the people.
