Delta State House of Assembly Committee on Housing, Women Affairs, Girl Child Development and Humanitarian Support Services has charged Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) under its supervision to intensify efforts toward delivering on the Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Bridget Anyafulu, gave the charge on Tuesday during the 2026 budget defense session at the Assembly Complex, where the Ministries of Housing, Women Affairs, and Humanitarian Support Services presented their fiscal proposals.

Hon Anyafulu emphasized that housing development and the welfare of citizens remain central to the policy thrust of the current administration.

She stressed the need for all MDAs to align their programmes with the governor’s vision in order to deepen socio-economic growth and improve the quality of life for Deltans.

Flanked by other committee members, Anyafulu urged the ministries to design and implement people-centered initiatives that would address critical needs across communities in the state.

In their separate presentations, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hon. Pat Ajudua, the Commissioner for Humanitarian Support Services, Orode Uduaghan, and the Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Godknows Angele, outlined their strategic plans for 2026.

They highlighted ongoing reforms, targeted interventions, and proposed capital projects aimed at strengthening social welfare, enhancing emergency response mechanisms, and expanding affordable housing across Delta State.

The commissioners appealed for sustained legislative backing and closer synergy between the executive and the legislature to ensure effective execution of their proposals.

They expressed confidence that with improved funding, their ministries would deliver even greater impact in 2026.

Reviewing their performance for the outgoing year, the ministries reported steady progress and reaffirmed their commitment to achieving better results in the new fiscal year.

The budget defense session had in attendance permanent secretaries, directors, and senior management staff from the respective MDAs.
