The Member representing Warri North in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Alfred Martins, has expressed excitement over the completion of the 20.95 km Trans‑Warri–Ode‑Itsekiri road project,
In a statement, Hon. Martins described the development as “a monumental breakthrough for the Itsekiri nation and a testament to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s political will and financial discipline.
The Lawmaker who is the Chairman, Assembly Committee on Lands and Survey, noted that the long‑delayed project now links numerous communities that were once cut off from Ode-Itsekiri, the ancestral homeland of the Itsekiri people.
He pointed out that the completion of the road project will boost trade, transportation and the overall quality of life in the localities.
Hon Martins added that the road, which includes 15 bridges, “will unlock economic opportunities and strengthen cultural ties across the state, aligning perfectly with the MORE Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.”
He praised the Governor’s “uncommon development strides” and pledged that the people of Warri North and the Itsekiri nation will continue to support initiatives that deliver tangible results for the people.
Hon. Martins called on all Delta citizens to sustain an effective collaboration with the Oborevwori administration’s vision, saying that “the state is on auto‑cruise in terms of development.”
The Lawmaker emphasized that completion of the road project marks a significant milestone for the Warri federal constituency, as it promises improved connectivity, commerce and social cohesion for the communities along the Warri‑Ode‑Itsekiri corridor.
