Immediate past former Deputy Governor of Delta State, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro has debunked claims that he was amongst those who decamped from Peoples Democratic party, PDP to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC and in the mass defection exercise that rocked the Delta state political landscape, on April 28, 2025.
Barr. Otuaro made the clarification in a statement he personally signed and which was made available to Deltans and the general public, on Sunday, September 14, 2025.
The former Delta Deputy Governor described such claims of his defection to APC as false, baseless, and should be disregarded in its entirety, adding emphatically that he remains a bona fide and committed member of the PDP, a party under whose platform he was duly elected and served meritoriously as Deputy Governor of Delta State.
The statement reads:
My attention has been drawn to speculations and misleading reports suggesting that I, H.E. Dcn. Barr. Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, the immediate past Deputy Governor of Delta State, have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
I wish to state clearly and unequivocally that such claims are false, baseless, and should be disregarded in its entirety. I remain a bona fide and committed member of the PDP, a party under whose platform I was duly elected and served meritoriously as Deputy Governor of Delta State.
My faith in the ideals, vision, and guiding principles of the PDP remains strong and unshaken. The PDP has been, and continues to be, the party of choice for me. I therefore urge the general public, political associates, and well-meaning supporters to ignore these rumors, as they are nothing but a calculated attempt to create confusion.
The task before us as members of the PDP is to strengthen our great party, consolidate on our achievements, and continue to uphold the values that have kept the PDP as a formidable political family.
Signed,
H.E. Dcn. Barr. Kingsley B. Otuaro
Immediate Past Deputy Governor of Delta State
