President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s commitment to delivering a stable, peaceful, and prosperous Nigeria, declaring that he will not let citizens down as economic reforms continue to unfold.

Speaking on Thursday at the State House in Abuja while receiving members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors led by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, the President said his government is restructuring long-standing political and economic systems that have hindered national growth.

According to a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu emphasised that the ongoing realignment of the economy is aimed at expanding opportunities, particularly for poor and vulnerable Nigerians.

He assured the delegation, which included Vice President Kashim Shettima and several governors, that his administration would sustain reforms designed to promote inclusive growth and broader citizen participation.

“The more people are involved in shaping their future, the better society becomes,” Tinubu said, urging the ambassadors to intensify grassroots sensitisation on government policies.

The President stressed his administration’s commitment to democratic principles, including the rule of law and respect for the judiciary, noting that national development depends on unity and a shared vision.

“We must build one country with a common purpose for progress and prosperity,” he stated, adding that his government remains focused on empowering youths and ensuring equitable opportunities across regions.

Tinubu also dismissed opposition criticisms, describing them as attempts to spread misinformation and discourage citizens. He maintained that reforms often come with initial challenges but are necessary for long-term national development.

“I won’t run away from the responsibility. We will fix what needs to be fixed and move forward,” he said.

Earlier, Uzodimma, who also serves as Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, briefed the President on the group’s activities nationwide. He said structures had been established from regional to ward levels, with ongoing mobilisation across communities, markets, schools, and faith-based organisations.

Former Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari commended Tinubu’s leadership, describing him as a courageous reformer undertaking difficult but necessary changes.

He noted that despite initial challenges, the reforms would ultimately strengthen Nigeria’s economy, adding that political leaders in the North-West remain supportive of the administration.

The statement added that several political figures, including governors and former office holders, attended the meeting and expressed confidence in the administration’s direction.
