The Idia College, Benin City Old Girls’ Association has renovated and fully equipped the school’s Physics and Chemistry laboratories as part of efforts to improve science education and provide students with a more conducive learning environment.
The project also included the installation of burglary-proof windows and five security doors to safeguard the newly installed laboratory equipment.
The initiative has attracted widespread commendation from members of the public and education stakeholders in Edo State and beyond, with many describing it as a significant contribution to the development of public education.
Speaking on the project, the association said the intervention was driven by its commitment to ensuring that its alma mater continues to maintain high academic standards and does not fall behind in providing quality educational facilities.
The Old Girls’ Association also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the growth and development of the school through additional intervention projects in the future.
The association called on other alumni groups, well-meaning individuals and corporate organisations to emulate the gesture by contributing to the development of educational institutions, stressing that collective efforts are essential to improving learning outcomes and strengthening the education sector.
