The 92nd birthday celebration of the Esama of Benin and Honorary Romanian Consul to Edo and Delta States, His Excellency, Sir Chief Dr. Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, has commenced in grand style in Benin City.
The celebration began at about 6 a.m. with a colourful and energetic performance by the EMCOVIC Brass Band, setting a lively tone for the series of activities lined up to honour the renowned elder statesman, philanthropist and businessman.
The early-morning musical performance attracted attention as friends, family members, dignitaries and well-wishers gathered at the Esama of Benin’s residence to celebrate the milestone.
Reporters at the venue observed a hive of activities as guests from within and outside Edo State continued to arrive to felicitate with the celebrated Benin-born businessman and philanthropist.
Birthday greetings, goodwill messages and prayers have continued to pour in from individuals, political leaders, government functionaries, religious leaders and organisations wishing Chief Igbinedion good health, longevity and continued impact.
The colourful celebration also attracted notable politicians and other dignitaries, who joined family members, friends and well-wishers in offering prayers and celebrating the life and contributions of the Esama of Benin.
The 92nd birthday festivities are expected to feature a series of activities in honour of Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, whose decades of contributions to business, education, philanthropy and community development have earned him recognition both in Nigeria and beyond.
