The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) has suspended all vigils, overnight prayer meetings, and similar programmes across its branches nationwide in response to prevailing security concerns in the country.
The directive was conveyed in an internal circular dated June 5, 2026, and signed by the Director of Administration, MFM International Headquarters and Nigeria, Temitope Olawale.
According to the circular, all church programmes, services, meetings, and activities at every level of the ministry must now conclude no later than 8:00 p.m. until further notice.
The church also ordered the immediate suspension of all vigils and overnight programmes. Branches that require such gatherings have been advised to convert them into evening prayer meetings that must end on or before 8:00 p.m.
MFM explained that the decision was taken as a precautionary measure aimed at protecting members amid the current security challenges facing the country.
“These measures are purely precautionary and are intended to safeguard the lives and well-being of our members in the face of the current security situation in the country,” the circular stated.
The ministry directed all overseers, zonal pastors, branch pastors, groups, and departments to ensure strict compliance with the directive.
It also instructed Mega Regional Overseers to communicate the new guidelines to all regions, zones, and branches under their supervision for immediate implementation.
The development comes against the backdrop of growing security concerns in several parts of Nigeria, prompting religious organisations and other institutions to adopt additional safety measures to protect worshippers and participants at public gatherings.
