Leo Edochie, son of veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie, has dismissed renewed social media claims that his father has died.

The rumour began circulating on X (formerly Twitter) after a user alleged that the 78-year-old actor had passed away in hospital under “unknown circumstances.” The post further claimed that the actor’s “elder son” had confirmed the death on Instagram.

“Nollywood actor Pete Edochie have just passed away at the age of 78 after being rushed to the hospital last due to unknown circumstances,” the post read.

“His elder son have confirmed the passing of Pete Edochie this morning on his IG. It’s was a tragic moment he said, rest in peace sir.”

However, Leo Edochie refuted the claim, making it clear that the reports are false and that the respected actor is alive.

This is not the first time unfounded reports about Pete Edochie’s death have circulated online, prompting family members to publicly debunk the claims.
