Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on her 66th birthday, praising her commitment to the welfare of vulnerable Nigerians.
In a congratulatory message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, in Asaba, Oborevwori joined Nigerians and well-wishers in celebrating the First Lady on the milestone.
The governor commended Senator Tinubu for her support for her husband, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as her contributions to programmes and initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the less privileged.
Describing her as an “Amazon,” Oborevwori said the First Lady’s public engagements and humanitarian interventions had complemented efforts by the Federal Government to address the needs of vulnerable citizens.
He noted that Senator Tinubu had demonstrated that public service goes beyond occupying positions of authority, stressing the importance of compassion and using public influence to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
According to the governor, the First Lady’s commitment to women, children, families and other vulnerable groups had earned her goodwill and appreciation from Nigerians across different sectors of society.
Oborevwori also said Senator Tinubu’s experience as a former teacher, lawmaker and First Lady had equipped her with a deeper understanding of the challenges facing families and communities, particularly those living on the margins of society.
He acknowledged her advocacy for social welfare, empowerment and human capital development, describing such interventions as important to building a more inclusive society.
The Delta governor further noted that the First Lady had continued to support the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda through programmes designed to provide opportunities and relief for Nigerians in need.
He commended her efforts in promoting the welfare of women and children, particularly at a time when governments at various levels were exploring practical measures to improve citizens’ living conditions.
Oborevwori praised Senator Tinubu for her resilience, dedication and service to the nation, noting that her contributions had extended beyond the ceremonial responsibilities associated with the office of the First Lady.
He prayed God to grant her continued good health, wisdom and strength to sustain her humanitarian engagements and other contributions to national development.
The governor also wished the First Lady many more years of fulfilment and service, assuring her of the goodwill and prayers of the government and people of Delta State.
“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, we celebrate an Amazon who has continued to support her beloved husband, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in making life meaningful for the downtrodden and less privileged in our society,” Oborevwori said.
