ASABA — The Chairman of the Delta State House of Assembly Committee on Public Accounts and member representing Okpe Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) James Augoye, has congratulated former Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, CON, on the occasion of his 67th birthday, commending his enduring legacy of transformational leadership and development.
In a congratulatory message posted on his social media platforms on Wednesday, Augoye described the former governor as “a distinguished personality, visionary leader and builder of men and infrastructure,” whose years in office left an indelible mark on Delta State.
Augoye, who served as Commissioner for Works during the Okowa administration, said the former governor’s tenure witnessed an unprecedented expansion of infrastructure across the state, with projects that improved connectivity and stimulated economic growth.
According to the lawmaker, Okowa’s commitment to human capital development, healthcare, education and youth empowerment redefined governance and established new standards for public service in Delta State.
“Through the Stronger Delta agenda, you transformed the landscape of our dear state. From urban renewal projects to rural roads and bridges, you connected communities and opened up Delta for economic growth,” Augoye stated.
He further praised Okowa’s leadership style, describing it as one rooted in compassion, humility and a steadfast commitment to leaving the state better than he met it.
“Your Excellency, you led with compassion, humility and an unshakable resolve to leave Delta better than you met it. Your legacies across the state will continue to speak for generations,” he added.
Augoye also prayed for God’s continued guidance, good health and wisdom for the former governor, wishing him many more years of impactful service to Delta State and the nation.
“As you mark this milestone, I pray that the Almighty God grants you sound health, wisdom and many more years of impactful service to our dear state and the nation at large. Happy 67th Birthday, Your Excellency. Okpe Constituency and Delta State celebrate you,” the statement concluded.
