The Member representing Okpe Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. (Dr.) James Augoye, has felicitated the immediate‑past Governor of the state, Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, on his appointment as South‑South Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
Hon Augoye, who served as Commissioner for Works during Dr Okowa’s administration in Delta State, said the appointment did not come as a surprise because Okowa’s leadership inspires others.
The lawmaker stated that he was overjoyed to hear that President Tinubu had appointed his former boss as South‑South Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative, noting that Dr Okowa’s integrity, strategic vision and ability to mobilise stakeholders have always set him apart.
“It’s no surprise to me that Mr President has placed his trust in His Excellency, Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, for this pivotal role,” he said. “Having served as Commissioner for Works under his administration, I witnessed first‑hand the passion and diligence he brings to every project of life.
“His leadership is the kind that inspires people to aim higher, and I am confident that under his guidance the President will gather more support in the South‑South.” Augoye stressed.
The Lawmaker prayed that God bless Dr Okowa with wisdom, strength and endless grace as he steers the vital initiative.
He also prayed that the appointment ushers in prosperity, unity and lasting progress for the South‑South and Nigeria at large.
