The wife of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON has hosted members of the press for lunch at the Presidential Villa, where she shared updates on her 65th birthday fundraiser for the National Library project.
She disclosed that she was grateful to announce that, so far, the Oluremi@65 Education Fund has realized ₦20.7 billion, and the account remains open till December 2025 to receive more support from Nigerians.
The project according to her, is not politically motivated; “it is a love project. As a teacher, I understand the value of libraries in shaping young minds, and this national treasure must serve generations to come. I reminded everyone that for my past birthdays, I raised funds for causes close to my heart – from completing the National Sickle Cell Foundation to supporting the New Era Foundation”.
She acknowledged generous contributions from leaders across all spheres – from Mr. President and the Vice President to former leaders, governors, lawmakers, business moguls, and many well-wishers. “Together, we are proving that a drop of water and a grain of sand can indeed make a mighty ocean”.
“This is my little step, my part in building our nation. And I believe Nigerians will do even more to ensure the National Library finally becomes a reality after decades of delay”.
