Senator Ned Nwoko has openly challenged the outcome of the APC senatorial primary process in Delta North, warning that any attempt to overturn what he described as a clear grassroots mandate could have serious political consequences for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to reports by Grassroots Media, the senator insisted that party members had overwhelmingly expressed their support for him during the ward-level process, stressing that the wishes of the grassroots should not be undermined through political interference or manipulation.

In a strongly worded reaction, Nwoko cautioned that sidelining genuine party support would amount to an attack on internal democracy and could damage the APC’s credibility in Delta State.

The senator also raised concerns over alleged external influence and the involvement of powerful interests in determining the outcome of the contest, a development that has further intensified debates around transparency and fairness in party primaries across the country.

Political observers say the dispute now goes beyond the Delta North ticket and has become a broader test of party discipline, unity, and democratic values within the APC.

As party stakeholders await the response of the APC national leadership, many believe the handling of the matter could shape political alignments in Delta State ahead of 2027.

One thing, however, appears certain: Senator Ned Nwoko is not backing down quietly from the battle over the Delta North mandate.
