Delta State House of Assembly Committee on Youth and Sports Development has called on Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) under its supervision to design impactful programmes that will enhance youth development and advance the MORE Agenda of the state government.

Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Emmanuel Sinebe, who represents Patani Constituency, gave the charge during the ongoing 2026 budget‑defence exercise at the Assembly Complex in Asaba.

Addressing the Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. ThankGod Trakriowei, and his team, as well as the officials from the Delta State Sports Commission, Hon. Sinebe emphasized that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori remains committed not only to infrastructural growth but also to the promotion of sports and the holistic well‑being of young people across the state.

He commended both the Ministry and the Sports Commission for the achievements recorded in the outgoing year, urging them to redouble efforts and deliver greater results in the 2026 fiscal year.

Flanked by Committee members Hon. Emeka Osamuta, Hon. Ebitonmo Alapala, Hon. Alfred Martins, Hon. Festus Utuama, and Hon. Achoja Blessing, Hon. Sinebe assured the legislature’s continued support for the successful implementation of youth and sports programmes in the coming year.

In separate presentations, the State Ministry of Sports and the Sports Commission highlighted their 2025 budget performance and appealed for sustained collaboration with the Committee.

They reiterated their commitment to advancing the Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda of the Oborevwori administration, particularly in youth empowerment and sports development.

Top officials from both the Ministry of Youth Development and the Delta State Sports Commission were in attendance during the defence session.
