Thai authorities have arrested a Nigerian national, identified as Ikenna Azubuike, over his alleged involvement in a major cocaine trafficking network operating in the country.

According to a report by Punch Newspapers, Azubuike was apprehended by Thai police during an operation targeting suspected drug trafficking activities.

The report alleged that the suspect was believed by investigators to have played a leading role in a cocaine distribution network that had been under surveillance by law enforcement authorities.

Details surrounding the arrest, including the circumstances leading to the operation and the quantity of narcotics allegedly linked to the network, were not immediately available.

Thai police have yet to release comprehensive details on the case, while investigations are expected to continue to determine the full extent of the suspected drug trafficking operation and identify other possible accomplices.

The arrest highlights ongoing efforts by Thai authorities to combat international drug trafficking and dismantle criminal networks involved in the illicit narcotics trade.

Further official statements from Thai law enforcement agencies are expected as the investigation progresses.
