President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will on Friday begin a two-state visit to Akwa Ibom and Rivers States, where he is expected to commission several development projects and participate in an All Progressives Congress (APC) political rally.
The President will depart Abuja on Friday, November 6, for Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, where he will inaugurate projects executed by Governor Umo Eno’s administration and attend a political rally.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the projects scheduled for commissioning include the new International Terminal Building, International Airport Hospital and Ibom Aviation Village, all located at the Victor Attah International Airport.
Other projects listed for inauguration are the Airport-Okopedi Road, which traverses Nsit Atai and Okobo Local Government Areas, and Ring Road 3, linking Idoro Road to Ikot Ekpene Road through Uyo and Ibiono Ibom.
The President is also expected to commission the AKWA-GIS Office Complex, the Command and Control Centre and the ARISE Palm Resort.
In preparation for the presidential visit, Governor Eno has declared Friday a work-free day across Akwa Ibom State to enable residents to participate in the reception and activities marking the visit.
After his engagements in Akwa Ibom, Tinubu will depart for Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Saturday to attend an APC rally.
The rally will be the President’s third major political outing since the commencement of his re-election campaign in Kaduna last month.
The statement added that the visits would provide opportunities for Tinubu to engage with political stakeholders, party members and supporters, while emphasising national unity, political stability and collective commitment to development.
The presidential visit comes amid renewed political mobilisation by the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
