WINNEBA, Ghana — The University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has received two LED screens measuring 8 x 6 feet each from the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Ghana, in fulfilment of a pledge made by the church’s National Overseer, Pastor Dr E. K. Tumsiah.
The pledge was made during the university’s first Interdenominational and Thanksgiving Service for the second semester, held on May 31, 2026, where Pastor Tumsiah served as the guest speaker.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the university, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Stephen Jobson Mitchual expressed profound gratitude to the ministry. He described the gesture as the first of its kind since he assumed office and praised the church for demonstrating practical Christian service.
According to Prof. Mitchual, the donation comes at a time when many people question how religious institutions utilise the resources entrusted to them. He said the gesture reflected Christ’s example of service and highlighted the positive impact faith-based organisations can have on society.
The LED screens were presented on behalf of the National Overseer by Pastor Yaw Osei Owusu, Zonal Coordinating Overseer for the Western-Central Zone. He explained that the equipment would support worship activities, learning, and communication at the Jophus Anamoah-Mensah Conference Centre.
Pastor Owusu noted that the donation symbolises the importance of collaboration between faith-based institutions and academia. He stressed that society stands to benefit significantly when churches and educational institutions work together to advance shared goals.
In addition to the LED screens, the ministry donated 600 copies of DAILY MANNA, a widely read devotional authored by renowned Christian leader Pastor W. F. Kumuyi. The devotional books were handed over to the university’s management for distribution among staff members.
The donation underscores the growing partnership between the university and faith-based organisations in promoting education, moral development, and community engagement.
