The Senior Medical Doctor military personnel was allegedly set ablaze by his 8- Month bride after intensive arguments in Akwa lbom state where he last served before his Tragedy ends.

Lt. Haruna, a medical doctor serving as the Regimental Medical Officer for the 6 Battalion, was allegedly doused with petrol by his wife, Mrs Haruna, before she set him ablaze.

He was quickly taken to the Military Reference Section (MRS) at the barracks, where he was treated and stabilised. He was moved to the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital for further care.

Despite the efforts of doctors, Lt. Haruna died from his injuries and his death has attracted many comments and reactions from the public saying that marriage is not a battle field.

“Before your dirty and gutter anger leads you to kill your partner, kindly note that he or she is someone’s brother, son, and relation who they love and protect. You will definitely have options if the legal system gives you justice, but the pain you inflict on the family will never heal. Rethink, marriage is not a battlefield”.

“No matter how intoxicated in love you are, if someone shows any trace of violence, either by words or actions, jokingly or seriously… please don’t marry the person, even if it’s an emergency. Save your life”.

“This girl here unalive her soldier husband , it’s really a sad story “.

“don’t let anyone waste your life nah in the name of marriage .. only 8 months old wedding”.
