Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has said Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has corrected his political mistakes by returning to the political family that supported his emergence as governor.

Wike made the remarks on Tuesday while leading senior officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) on an inspection of ongoing road projects in Abuja.

The FCT minister was reacting to Fubara’s recent declaration of support for the political family led by Wike during the inauguration of the Rivers Medical Industries Project in Port Harcourt on July 22.

According to Wike, the governor’s decision to reunite with his political associates signals a renewed commitment to peace and stability in Rivers State after months of political tension.

He said there was no reason for further division, stressing that members of the political family would now work together to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 general election.

Wike maintained that reconciliation was in the best interest of Rivers State and its people, adding that the focus should now shift from political disagreements to governance and development.

The minister expressed confidence that the renewed alliance would strengthen the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration’s chances in Rivers State ahead of the next presidential election.
