Wike Says APC, PDP Have United Under Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda in Rivers

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that political divisions between the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have effectively disappeared in Rivers State, with members of both parties now operating under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Wike made the declaration on Monday while addressing leaders, youths, and women from Etche and Omuma Local Government Areas during a courtesy visit to the councils.

According to the former Rivers State governor, partisan affiliations have taken a back seat in favour of unity and collective development, noting that cooperation among political actors has become the driving force in the state.

“In Rivers State, APC and PDP have already collapsed into one family — the Renewed Hope family,” Wike said.

He urged residents and political stakeholders to abandon party labels and instead focus on collaboration and service delivery.

“I don’t want to hear again, ‘I am PDP’ or ‘I am APC.’ What I want to hear is that you are working together. All of us are members of the Renewed Hope agenda. It is one family,” he added.

Wike explained that the visit was not politically motivated and should not be mistaken for a campaign event. He said the purpose was to express appreciation to the people for their continued support.

“We didn’t come for any rally. I am here to say thank you for the support you have given to us over the years. We are not ungrateful people,” he stated.

The FCT minister commended the chairmen of Etche and Omuma local government areas for promoting stability and peaceful coexistence, urging leaders at all levels to honour agreements reached in the interest of development.

“Agreement is agreement. When you agree with people, you must keep it,” Wike said.

He warned that political division often stalls progress, while unity accelerates development outcomes.

“When you are united, you get results. When you are divided, you lose,” he cautioned.

Wike also expressed gratitude to women, youths, and community leaders for sustaining peace in the areas, describing the calm atmosphere during his visit as evidence of growing political maturity in Rivers State.

“This is not a rally. It is simply to say thank you,” he concluded.
