In line with its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of lives and property within its communities and especially during this festive season , the Hon Dagidi Andaye-led administration, through its Peace and Security Committee, has launched “Operation Peaceful Yuletide”.

The Committee, a joint patrol initiative comprising officers from the Military Joint Task Force ( JTF), Nigeria Police Force and members of the Bomadi Local Government Vigilante, has as it’s sole modus operandi, the curbing of insecurity , theft , cultism , and other forms of crime .

In a statement , Bomadi Council Chairman, Hon Dagidi Rawlings Andaye, the 24- hour operation intended to ensure that communities in Bomadi local government area remain safe and secure, emphasizes his administration,s dedication to safeguarding the security of citizens and property , particularly during this period of increased movement and activities .

Hon Andaye also used the opportunity to remind residents that the use of fireworks, locally called “knockout”, is strictly prohibited during this yuletide season in Bomadi local government.

According to the local government Boss, “This is in line with the directive of the Inspector General of Police and also aimed at preventing criminals from using it as a disguise to rob and threaten the peace of our community . The loud noise from fireworks can also be exploited by criminals to mask their activities, putting citizens at risk”.

While urging residents in Bomadi to cooperate with security personnel and report any suspicious activities , emphasizing the “if you see something , say something” mantra, Hon Andaye assured that the Joint Patrol Team is working tirelessly to ensure a safe and peaceful yuletide season for all law abiding residents .

The Council Boss also said that , “as citizens , we have a duty to cooperate and assist our security personnel in their efforts to keep us safe . We are reminded that security is everybody,s responsibility , and we must work together to maintain peace and stability in our community”.

Andaye concluded by assuring all residents of a safe and peaceful yuletide season , appealing to everyone to desist from engaging in any activities that could compromise the safety of others or disrupt the peace of the community.
