Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will secure a clean sweep in Delta State during the 2027 general elections, declaring that the party is already gaining an overwhelming political advantage over its opponents.

Dafinone made the declaration on Thursday while speaking with journalists at the Oleh Township Stadium, Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, during the APC campaign flag-off.

He said the massive turnout of party supporters at the rally, as well as the enthusiasm displayed by women, youths and other stakeholders, demonstrated the growing acceptance of the APC across the state.

According to the senator, the impressive crowds recorded at Oleh and Ozoro were clear indications of the party’s expanding grassroots influence and organisational strength ahead of the 2027 elections.

He expressed optimism that the APC would win all five categories of elections in Delta State, attributing the party’s growing political fortunes to the developmental strides of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the economic reforms being implemented by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Dafinone maintained that the Tinubu administration’s economic policies were gradually yielding positive results, particularly in macroeconomic stability, exchange rate management and the prices of food and other essential commodities.

He also pointed to what he described as improvements in the stability of the naira and Nigeria’s foreign reserves, noting that the country’s reserve position had reached a level not witnessed in about 18 years.

Although he acknowledged the initial economic difficulties associated with the reforms, the senator argued that the emerging gains would strengthen public confidence in the APC and influence voters’ decisions in 2027.

On the political atmosphere in Delta State, Dafinone said the overwhelming attendance at the party’s gatherings had sent a strong message to opposition parties about the APC’s readiness for the forthcoming elections.

He, however, warned party leaders and supporters against allowing the impressive rally attendance to create a false sense of victory.

He stressed that the party must remain committed to grassroots mobilisation and voter engagement until the final votes were cast and officially declared.

“In this coming elections, we want to win with convincing figures, overwhelming that our opponents would have no reason to go to court,” he said.

The senator urged APC members to intensify mobilisation across communities, wards and polling units, insisting that the party must translate the enthusiasm witnessed at campaign rallies into actual votes on election day.

He also commended the leadership of the Delta State APC for adopting an issue-based campaign strategy, describing its focus on governance, policies and performance as the right approach to winning public support.

Dafinone advised party faithful to counter criticisms from opposition parties by highlighting the achievements of the Tinubu and Oborevwori administrations, particularly in infrastructure, economic management and other areas of governance.

He cautioned against personal attacks and inflammatory political statements, urging members to remain focused on communicating the party’s achievements and development agenda to the electorate.

Reaffirming his confidence in the APC’s prospects in Delta State, Dafinone said the combination of President Tinubu’s economic reforms, Governor Oborevwori’s development programmes and the party’s expanding grassroots structures would position it for a decisive victory in 2027.

He called on party leaders, stakeholders and supporters to maintain unity, sustain political mobilisation and ensure that the massive support demonstrated at the Oleh campaign flag-off translates into electoral success.
