The newly nominated Delta State Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Hon. Ben Igbakpa, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to unite and intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Igbakpa, a former member of the House of Representatives and former Deputy Majority Leader of the Delta State House of Assembly, made the call in a statement shared on social media following the inauguration of the movement’s Delta platform.
He described the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement as a people-driven initiative designed to promote the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and other APC candidates across communities in Delta State.
According to him, every APC member has a responsibility to work towards the party’s electoral success through democratic engagement and effective grassroots campaigning.
“By choosing to belong to the APC, it becomes our collective responsibility to ensure the party wins through democratic means because only victory can guarantee the dividends of governance and opportunities for party members,” he said.
Igbakpa acknowledged that the assignment before the movement is challenging but achievable through teamwork, noting that responsibilities would be assigned based on members’ strengths and capacities to ensure maximum impact.
“The task ahead is enormous and requires everyone to work together. No individual can do it alone, and that is why I am encouraged by the calibre of people already committed to this platform,” he stated.
He said members of the movement would serve as ambassadors of the Tinubu and Oborevwori administrations by taking government policies, programmes and achievements directly to communities where elected officials may not always be able to reach.
“We are the mouthpiece of the President, the Governor and all APC candidates. Our responsibility is to continuously educate the people on what government is doing and ensure they have accurate information,” he added.
Explaining the philosophy behind the initiative, Igbakpa said the Door-to-Door campaign would ensure that every part of Delta State is reached with the party’s message.
“If there is any door left unknocked, bring it to our attention. We recognise that there are challenges, and it is our duty to educate the people on the steps government is taking to address them,” he said.
The former lawmaker also disclosed that consultations would soon be held with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the Grand Patron of the movement, High Chief (Dr.) Government O. Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, after which the State Executive Committee would be constituted in line with the movement’s agreed framework.
He commended Governor Oborevwori for policies and decisions that, according to him, have promoted peace, unity and development across Delta State.
Expressing confidence in the party’s chances ahead of the next general election, Igbakpa maintained that a united APC would be difficult to defeat in the state.
“This is the home state of the Door-to-Door Movement, and I strongly believe that a united house cannot be defeated,” he said.
