The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, on Sunday held a vibrant thanksgiving service at St. John Mary Vianney Catholic Church, Asaba, to officially conclude the 2025 Press Week activities.
The well-attended service drew members of the council, including the Press Week Planning Committee, who gathered to express gratitude to God for His mercy, grace, and guidance throughout the week-long programme.

In a joyous procession, the Council Chairman, Comrade Churchill Oyowe, joined by the 2025 Press Week Committee Chairman and Secretary, Comrades Pere Botu and Barth Ozah, as well as other council members, danced to the altar in appreciation of the successful events, which climaxed with a lecture and an awards ceremony.

The officiating priest, during the Mass, offered special prayers for journalists and emphasised the importance of gratitude. He encouraged union members to remain steadfast in faith and trust in God’s unfailing ability to accomplish all things.

This year’s Press Week, themed “Tax Regimes and Exchange Rate Unification: Economic Implications and Media’s Strategic Role,” featured deliberations on national economic policies and the media’s role in shaping public understanding.

Also present at the Lecture/awards ceremony was the National President of the NUJ, Comrade Alhassan Yahaya, represented by the Zone F Vice President, along with other notable personalities who joined the council in celebrating a successful Press Week.
