The newly elected Edo State executive of the All Progressives Congress (APC), led by Jarrett Tenebe, has formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Monday Okpebholo, and Senator Adams Oshiomhole for second terms in office, citing what it described as their impressive performance and leadership.
The endorsement followed the party’s state congress held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at the Sir Victor Uwaifo Hub in Benin City, where delegates from the 192 wards across Edo State unanimously returned the 36-member state executive, led by Tenebe, for another four-year term through a voice affirmation.
In his acceptance speech, Tenebe said the renewed mandate was both a vote of confidence and a call to greater responsibility. He announced that the executive had endorsed President Tinubu and Governor Okpebholo for second terms, stating that both leaders have demonstrated strong performance and positively impacted Nigerians and Edo residents.
“This unanimous voice affirmation is a call to duty, and we are ready to discharge our responsibility and ensure the party continues to put Edo people first, while supporting the governor to sustain his developmental strides in the state,” Tenebe said.
He also confirmed the endorsement of Oshiomhole, former Edo State governor and current senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, for a second term in the Senate, commending what he described as quality representation.
Tenebe thanked party delegates and faithful for their overwhelming support, noting that their loyalty helped the party remain united through challenging periods. He described the new tenure as a defining chapter for the Edo APC.
“We have been handed the baton of leadership, and the race ahead is a marathon that will span the next four years,” he added.
The APC chairman further stated that the new tenure coincides with the implementation of Governor Okpebholo’s SHINE Agenda, which he described as a transformational blueprint designed to reposition Edo State for sustainable development. He pledged the party’s full support for the agenda’s successful execution.

Earlier, Chairman of the National Congress Committee, Hon. Kabiru Ajana, said the committee was mandated to conduct elections into the 36 vacant executive positions of the Edo APC. According to him, the exercise reflected party unity, as all positions were returned unopposed after screening, with no appeals recorded.
Ajana commended Governor Okpebholo for fostering unity within the party and urged other states to emulate Edo’s example.
Speaking at the congress, Oshiomhole also praised delegates for what he described as a seamless process, saying it underscored the unity within the Edo APC.
Other dignitaries at the event included Minister for Regional Development Abubakar Momoh; Deputy Governor Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa; Secretary to the Edo State Government Barr. Musa Ikhilor; and other senior party leaders.
The statement was signed by Dr. Patrick Akhere Ebojele, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Monday Okpebholo.
