The Forum of All Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Council Chairmen has extended warm Easter greetings to Christians and Nigerians, urging citizens to embrace unity, hope, and national renewal.
In an Easter message issued by the Chairman of the NUJ Gombe State Council, Faruk Muazu Gombe, the forum described the season as a symbol of hope, love, and transformation.
According to the forum, Easter represents values that transcend religious and cultural boundaries, emphasizing the need for peace, unity, and shared prosperity across the country.
“As journalists, we recognize the importance of truth, fairness, and accuracy in shaping public discourse. We must continue to uphold these values while promoting understanding and empathy,” the statement said.
The forum also encouraged Christians to reflect the teachings of the risen Christ by becoming agents of positive change, spreading love, kindness, and compassion in their communities.
Addressing national issues, the NUJ chairmen noted that despite Nigeria’s numerous challenges, the Easter season serves as a reminder that meaningful transformation is achievable. They called on leaders at all levels to prioritize citizens’ welfare by improving access to quality education, healthcare, and economic opportunities.
The forum further commended security personnel and humanitarian workers for their sacrifices and commitment to maintaining peace and stability across the country.
It stressed the importance of unity and solidarity among Nigerians, expressing optimism that collective efforts would lead to a brighter future.
The statement concluded with a call for Nigerians to use the spirit of Easter to overcome divisions and work together toward building a more just, equitable, and prosperous society.
