The U.S. Department of State is set to introduce limited-edition passports to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence, according to a report by Fox News Digital.
The commemorative passports will feature customized artwork, including an image of Donald Trump on the inside cover. The design also incorporates elements such as the text of the Declaration of Independence, the American flag, and the president’s signature rendered in gold.
Additional pages highlight historical imagery, including a depiction of the Founding Fathers at the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
A spokesperson for the State Department, Tommy Pigott, told Fox News Digital that the passports will retain all standard security features, describing them as consistent with the high-security standards of U.S. travel documents.
The updated cover design features an enlarged “United States of America” inscription positioned above the national crest, while the back cover displays a version of the American flag with “250” centered among 13 stars inspired by the 1777 design.
The limited-edition passports are expected to be released in summer 2026 as part of the broader “America250” celebrations, marking the country’s 250th anniversary. These events are set to include nationwide activities, such as a large-scale fair on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., as well as other commemorative programs.
According to officials cited by Fox News Digital, the special passports will be available to U.S. citizens applying for passports during the rollout period, subject to availability, and will be issued through the Washington Passport Agency.
The initiative forms part of a wider lineup of anniversary events aimed at celebrating U.S. history and national identity.
