Former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, has officially submitted his nomination form to contest the 2027 presidential election under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), declaring that the move marks the beginning of a renewed mission to rescue Nigeria from its current challenges.
Atiku disclosed this in a post shared on his X page on Thursday, alongside photos and a video showing him at the ADC national headquarters in Abuja during the submission of the nomination documents.
According to the former vice-president, the step represents a major milestone in what he described as a collective effort to restore prosperity, unity, and good governance in the country.
“The march to restore prosperity and better days to our beloved nation took a firm and decisive step forward today at the National Secretariat of our great party, the African Democratic Congress,” Atiku wrote.
The 2027 presidential hopeful also reiterated his commitment to addressing Nigeria’s economic and security concerns, while calling on Nigerians to support what he termed a movement for national recovery and progress.
His formal entry into the race under the ADC is expected to reshape the political landscape ahead of the 2027 general election, as consultations and realignments continue among major political stakeholders.
