Publisher and politician, Dele Momodu, has stated that former Minister of Transportation and ex-Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, does not possess the political strength to defeat key national figures such as President Bola Tinubu, former President Goodluck Jonathan, or Labour Party’s Peter Obi in a presidential contest.

Momodu made the remark during an interview on Channels Television’s programme, Politics Today, while speaking on the current political landscape and the capacity of major opposition figures ahead of future elections.

According to him, although Amaechi remains his friend, honesty demands that he speaks frankly about the former governor’s political limitations.

“The truth of the matter is that Rotimi Amaechi does not have the capacity to defeat Peter Obi, to defeat Goodluck Jonathan, or to defeat Bola Tinubu,” Momodu said during the interview.

“He is my very good friend, and if I can tell Tinubu the truth, then I should be able to tell Amaechi the truth. He does not have that capacity,” he added.

Momodu, who was the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2023 elections, is known for his outspoken views on national politics and governance.

His comments are expected to generate reactions within political circles, especially among supporters of Amaechi and opposition figures positioning ahead of the 2027 general elections.
