Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Senator Ede Dafinone, has congratulated former Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, and Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas on their emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidates for Delta North and Delta South respectively.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Dafinone described their victories at the APC senatorial primaries as a reflection of the confidence and trust reposed in them by delegates, party leaders, and stakeholders across the two senatorial districts.

The lawmaker also commended the peaceful and orderly conduct of the primaries across Delta State, noting that the exercise demonstrated the unity, strength, and growing democratic culture within the APC.

According to him, the emergence of experienced political figures such as Okowa and Joel-Onowakpo has further strengthened the party’s position ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“The emergence of experienced leaders like Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas further strengthens our party and positions the APC strongly for victory ahead of the 2027 general elections,” Dafinone stated.

He urged party faithful, supporters, and stakeholders across the three senatorial districts to remain united and committed to the collective vision of progress, development, and quality representation for the people of Delta State.

Dafinone reaffirmed the need for continued unity within the party as preparations gradually begin for the next general elections.
