A private aircraft involved in Wednesday’s incident near Ogwashi-Uku in Delta State has reportedly been linked to Dunamis International Gospel Centre, according to a report by TheCable.
The publication cited sources familiar with the matter as saying that preliminary inquiries by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) indicate that the aircraft is registered in the United States under the name of the church. The church is led by Pastor Paul Enenche.
According to the report, the aircraft was brought into Nigeria under a Permit for Non-Commercial Flight (PNCF), which restricts its use to private, non-commercial operations.
Sources quoted by TheCable further alleged that aviation authorities are examining whether the aircraft may have been operated in a manner inconsistent with the conditions of that permit. However, no official finding of wrongdoing has been announced by the NCAA or any other regulatory agency as of the time of this report.
The circumstances surrounding the aircraft’s landing near Asaba remain under investigation. Authorities have not publicly released a final report on the incident, and no formal charges relating to permit violations have been announced.
Efforts to obtain official comments from the relevant aviation authorities and representatives of Dunamis International Gospel Centre were ongoing at the time of publication.
