Former Deputy President of the Senate and Senatorial Candidate for Delta Central Senatorial District under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has congratulated the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Gregory Obi, CON, on his 65th birthday, describing him as a symbol of hope and a leader whose values reflect the aspirations of millions of Nigerians.
In a goodwill message released to mark Obi’s birthday, Omo-Agege praised the former Anambra State governor for what he described as a legacy of prudent leadership, accountability and institutional reforms, saying his record in public office continues to serve as a benchmark for good governance.
According to Omo-Agege, Obi has consistently demonstrated integrity, competence and a commitment to public service, qualities he said have positioned the NDC as a credible alternative for Nigerians seeking a departure from what he described as politics characterised by waste, impunity and exclusion.
He said the party’s vision is centred on transforming Nigeria into a productive, secure and inclusive nation by prioritising education, healthcare, human capital development, economic self-sufficiency and the protection of lives and property.
The former Deputy Senate President also expressed confidence in the growing support for the NDC across Delta Central and the South-South region, noting that many Nigerians have embraced the party’s message and believe Obi possesses the leadership capacity to deliver meaningful national transformation.
Omo-Agege pledged his commitment to supporting the party’s agenda through legislative action if elected to the Senate, saying he would work to translate the NDC’s policy proposals into laws and institutional reforms that would directly benefit Nigerians.
Describing the 2027 general election as more than a political contest, he said it represents a movement to restore confidence in governance, strengthen public institutions and demonstrate that Nigeria can be governed with integrity, competence and accountability.
