Roma Communications, publishers of The Roma News, has felicitated the founder of Lift Above Poverty Organization (LAPO) and LAPO Microfinance Bank, Dr. Godwin Esewei Ehigiamusoe, on the occasion of his birthday.
In a goodwill message, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Roma Communications joined family members, friends, associates and well-wishers across Nigeria and beyond in celebrating the renowned social entrepreneur and development advocate.
Roma Communications described Ehigiamusoe as a visionary whose commitment to poverty reduction, financial inclusion and community development has positively impacted countless lives over the years.
Ehigiamusoe founded LAPO in the late 1980s as a pilot rural development and microcredit initiative in Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State.
The initiative was established initially as a non-profit project aimed at supporting low-income earners, particularly rural women who had limited or no access to conventional financial services.
Over the years, the initiative evolved into a major social enterprise network, giving rise to the Lift Above Poverty Organization and LAPO Microfinance Bank, with operations extending across Nigeria and parts of West Africa.
Roma Communications commended Ehigiamusoe for his longstanding contribution to financial inclusion, entrepreneurship and the empowerment of underserved communities.
The organisation noted that his work has not only helped individuals and families improve their livelihoods but has also contributed to economic development by creating opportunities for people at the grassroots.
“Thank you for the many lives you have touched and for your contribution towards lifting the economy up,” Roma Communications said.
The media organisation wished Dr. Ehigiamusoe continued good health, greater accomplishments and many more years of impactful service.
Once again, happy birthday to you, sir.
