Deltans have continued to commend the Delta State Government for its decision to undertake the comprehensive renovation of dilapidated schools across the state.
The development has also prompted concerned citizens to call on residents, community leaders and other stakeholders to draw the attention of the state government to schools in need of urgent rehabilitation in their communities and hometowns.
According to the citizens, identifying and reporting dilapidated school structures would enable the government to assess the condition of such facilities and take appropriate action.
Meanwhile, school principals, parents and other education stakeholders across the state have applauded the government’s initiative to give renewed attention to the construction, rehabilitation and renovation of school facilities across the three senatorial districts.
They described the move as a significant investment in the future of children in the state, noting that a conducive learning environment is essential for effective teaching and learning.
The stakeholders urged the government to ensure that the renovation programme covers schools in both urban and rural communities, particularly those with severely deteriorated infrastructure.
They also called for sustained maintenance of renovated facilities to prevent them from returning to their current state of disrepair.
The stakeholders expressed optimism that the comprehensive rehabilitation of schools would improve learning conditions, boost teachers’ morale and enhance educational outcomes across Delta State.
