The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, has celebrated the Honourable Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, on his birthday, describing him as an accomplished communicator, dedicated public servant and strong advocate of sustainable development.
In a congratulatory message jointly signed by the Council’s Chairman, Comrade Churchill Oyowe, and Secretary, Comrade Victor Sorokwu, the NUJ commended Aniagwu for his years of distinguished service and his contributions to the development of Delta State.
The Council described the Commissioner as a seasoned public relations strategist and effective government spokesperson whose communication skills have helped to simplify government policies and programmes while strengthening the relationship between government and citizens.
According to the NUJ, Aniagwu’s eloquence, extensive knowledge and ability to clearly explain issues of governance have earned him considerable respect both within the media industry and beyond.
The journalists’ body also praised his accessibility and cordial relationship with media practitioners, noting that his recognition of the media as a critical pillar of democracy and an important instrument for promoting accountability and good governance was commendable.
The NUJ further expressed confidence that Aniagwu’s passion for grassroots development, coupled with his current responsibility in the Works (Rural Roads) sector, would contribute significantly to opening up rural communities, improving connectivity and promoting inclusive development across Delta State.
The Council stated: “On this special occasion, we celebrate a man whose life and career have been defined by service, dedication and an uncommon commitment to the public good.
“Your contributions to public communication and governance, as well as your continued passion for the development of Delta State, remain worthy of commendation.
“As you mark another year, we pray that Almighty God will bless you with greater wisdom, sound health, renewed strength and many more years of impactful service to humanity and our dear state.”
The NUJ Delta State Council wished Aniagwu a joyous birthday celebration and expressed optimism that the new year would bring him greater accomplishments, fulfilment and opportunities to continue serving the people of Delta State.
