As part of activities to mark the 65th Independence Day of Nigeria, the International Friendship League (IFL) an outreach arm of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, held a Special Independence Day Celebration program titled, “Beyond Independence: Living in True Freedom.
Speaking during the program held at the Protea Hotel, Benin City, Edo State, venue of the Edo South International Friendship League Chapter as monitored by newsmen, the General Superintendent of the church, Pastor (Dr) WF Kumuyi said without Sanctification and cleansing of the heart, there was nothing any man or leader can do gloriously, righteously and faithfully.
In a message titled, “The Faultless Saviour and His Faultless Church”, Pastor Kumuyi stressed that Christ is a Faultless Saviour who came to raise a Faultless Church and as well redeem a nation adding that it’s only at salvation and redemption that a church or nation can truly appropriate the healing, deliverance, emancipation and freedom that He purchased.
Pastor WF Kumuyi who divided the message into three parts: The Crowning and Crucifixion of the Faultless Saviour, The Character and the Condemnation of the Faulty Sinners and The Cleansing and the Christlikeness of Faultless Saints emphasized that “a church without Sanctification cannot be said to be a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkles”.
Quoting copiously from the books of Saint John Chapter 18:38, 19:4, 1 Peter 2:20 and Revelation 14:4, the revered and Holiness preacher challenged all to seek for God beyond church or religious activities and have a true and cleansed heart and spirit.
He prayed for the grace of God upon all believers and leaders to be able to stand and serve the Lord and mankind effectively and gloriously.
In attendance were Commissioners and their representatives, Edo State House of Assembly member, Chiefs, Pastors, Professors, Legal Practioners and luminaries and Technocrats.
Other activities featured during the program include, Fellowship hymns, testimony, Independence Discourse and Choir ministrations
