The Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku, has reaffirmed his commitment to responsible leadership and people-centered governance, describing leadership as “a sacred trust” that must be exercised with humility, dedication and an unwavering commitment to the common good.
In a statement, Agbebaku said public office holders have a responsibility that extends beyond lawmaking to inspiring hope, strengthening democratic institutions and creating opportunities for citizens to succeed.
According to the Speaker, his administration remains committed to supporting policies and legislation that will drive sustainable development and improve the quality of life of Edo people.
He listed peace and security, quality education, improved healthcare, youth empowerment and economic prosperity among the key priorities that will continue to guide the legislative agenda of the Edo State House of Assembly.
Agbebaku stressed that the true measure of leadership lies not in the offices held but in the positive impact made on the lives of the people, urging leaders to uphold the values of integrity, fairness, courage and selfless service.
He also called for unity of purpose among stakeholders, expressing confidence that collective commitment and responsible leadership would help build a stronger, more prosperous Edo State for present and future generations.
“Together, through unity of purpose and responsible leadership, we will continue to build a stronger, more prosperous, and greater Edo State for this generation and those yet unborn,” Agbebaku said.
