Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has called on the people of Isoko Nation to support all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections as a demonstration of appreciation for his administration’s development efforts across the area.
The governor made the appeal on Monday while inspecting ongoing and completed projects at the College of Health Technology, Ovrode, and the Ozoro Modern Market in Isoko North Local Government Area.
According to Oborevwori, his administration has made substantial investments in road infrastructure, education and healthcare across Isoko Nation and other parts of Delta State, adding that the government’s development strides deserve electoral support.
“What the Isoko people owe us is that in 2027, they should deliver all our candidates. We have constructed roads here, invested in health and education, and our footprints are visible across the state. We are executing projects in all 25 local government areas and across the three senatorial districts,” the governor said.
Oborevwori explained that he personally inspects projects before commissioning them to ensure they meet the required standards of quality.
“Before I commission any project, I inspect it to assess the quality of work and determine whether it is ready for inauguration. Having gone round this facility, I can say the work is impressive, although it is not yet 100 per cent complete.
“There are one or two areas that require correction, particularly the landscaping and a few finishing touches. Once these are addressed, the project will be ready for commissioning,” he stated.
The governor described the College of Health Technology, Ovrode, as one of the flagship projects of his administration, noting that the state government also constructed an access road to improve accessibility to the institution.
“When we approved this project, we decided it deserved a befitting access road. Today, that road has been completed, and when we commission the college, we will commission the road as well,” he added.
Speaking on the Ozoro Modern Market, Oborevwori expressed satisfaction with the quality of work, declaring the facility ready for inauguration.
“We earlier visited the Ozoro Modern Market, and I am impressed with what I saw. The project has been completed for several months and is ready for commissioning.
“Our administration is not focused on roads alone. We are making significant investments in education, healthcare and other critical sectors. We do not spend all our time publicising projects on social media. Anyone who visits these locations can see the extensive work we are doing. Many people are unaware that projects such as this market, the College of Health Technology and the Irri Technical College even exist,” he said.
The governor also recalled major infrastructural projects executed by his administration at Southern Delta University, Ozoro, stressing that development was taking place across the state under the M.O.R.E. Agenda.
Earlier, the contractor handling the Ozoro Modern Market project, Chief Iduh Amadhe, disclosed that the market had been completed since last year and was awaiting formal commissioning by the state government.
He said the modern market comprises 192 open stalls, 28 lock-up shops, eight warehouses, 16 modern toilets, water facilities, four fire points, meeting halls for market leaders, offices for market administrators and labour unions, as well as two security posts.
Amadhe, however, expressed concern over repeated incidents of vandalism at the facility, revealing that about ₦3.2 million had been spent repairing damaged infrastructure after the market was attacked on three separate occasions.
He appealed to the state government to provide adequate security around the complex to protect the investment and ensure the market effectively serves traders and residents after its inauguration.
