The National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has distanced itself from purported Senatorial primary election results allegedly announced by some state chapters of the party, describing such declarations as unauthorized and contrary to directives earlier issued by the party leadership.
In a statement issued by the Chief of Staff to the National Chairman of the APC, Hon. Albukalreem Bala Kwali, the party clarified that no state chapter was authorized to independently release the outcome of the Senatorial primaries pending official ratification by the National Secretariat.
The statement stressed that the premature release of results at the state level violates the guidelines and directives earlier communicated by the party’s national leadership for the conduct and announcement of the primaries.
“The National Secretariat wishes to clearly state that it is not in any way connected with the purported Senatorial primary results being circulated from some states, as such actions are contrary to the earlier directives given by the party,” the statement read.
The APC leadership therefore called on party members, aspirants, and supporters across the country to remain calm and await the official and authentic results to be released through the appropriate channels by the National Secretariat.
The party reiterated its commitment to transparency, due process, and internal democracy in the conduct of its primary elections.
