The All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended one of its chieftains, Mr. Fubara Dagogo, over allegations of gross misconduct and anti-party activities.
The decision was taken by the party leadership in Ward 4, New Layout, in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State.
According to a suspension letter dated March 16, 2026, and jointly signed by the ward chairman, Mr. Richard Ibani Benstowe, and the secretary, Donald Jumbo, Dagogo’s actions were found to be in violation of the party’s constitution.
In a video circulating on social media, Benstowe read the notice, stating that Dagogo’s conduct contravened Article 21.2 (I), (II), and (VII) of the APC Constitution (2022, as amended). He said the suspended chieftain acted in ways that brought ridicule and disrepute to the party.
“Following the resolution of members and leaders of Ward 4, New Layout, at an emergency meeting held on March 16, 2026, you are hereby suspended indefinitely from the APC,” Benstowe said.
He cited several infractions, including engaging in anti-party activities, flouting party rules and decisions, disobeying lawful directives, and making statements deemed offensive to party leaders both within and outside the state.
Benstowe added that despite prior warnings to members against actions capable of embarrassing the party, Dagogo allegedly failed to comply.
The ward leadership stated that the suspension takes immediate effect and urged the state secretary to ratify the decision and take necessary further action.
