Atiku Decries continued detention of Mazi Kanu; Say’s it’s Absurd

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has condemned in strong terms the continued detention of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB)

 

Atiku who has put his weight on the release of Nnamdi Kanu also follows a call by human rights Activist, Omoyele Sowore who urged prominent leaders including Atiku Abubakar, to join in the peaceful March to the Presidential Villa in Abuja to demand for Kanu’s release.

 

Atiku Abubakar described Kanu’s continued detention as “an open sore on our Nation’s conscience” and a stain on our belief in the rule of law.

 

The former Vice President added that it’s an abuse of power and an assault on justice to deny court orders.

 

The plan protest March is scheduled for October 20.

 

Kanu has been in detention since 2021, despite court orders granting him bail.
