LAGOS — The General Overseer of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Movement, Lazarus Muoka, has warned Christians to be wary of what he described as deceptive end-time prophets, while dismissing claims that members of his church are poor.
Muoka gave the admonition during the grand finale of the church’s annual Easter retreat crusade themed “God’s Covenant of Peace and Blessing,” held at its Revival Ground International Headquarters in Ijesha, Lagos.
Addressing worshippers, the cleric stressed that God remains faithful to His promises, noting that divine covenants are unbreakable. He stated that God’s nature is rooted in holiness and truth, making it impossible for Him to fail in His word.
He criticised certain preachers whom he described as false prophets, accusing them of relying on eloquence rather than delivering teachings capable of transforming lives. According to him, genuine Christianity is grounded in the undiluted word of God.
Citing a testimony shared during the crusade, Muoka recounted the experience of a woman who, he said, struggled under the influence of such teachings and even contemplated suicide before finding deliverance.
“The false prophet’s grammar did not change her life, but when she came to Chosen, her life turned around,” he said.
Emphasising simplicity and spiritual depth, Muoka added that true servants of God prioritise salvation over theatrics. He referenced the example of Jesus Christ and Apostle Peter, noting that their teachings focused on truth rather than eloquence.
He further cautioned that some modern-day preachers, despite their emphasis on prayer, lack a genuine message of salvation. According to him, such ministries do not produce true converts.
Muoka maintained that his ministry remains committed to proclaiming the word of God, urging believers to prioritise spiritual growth, in line with the biblical teaching to seek first the kingdom of God.
