ABUJA — Senator Ede Dafinone, who represents Delta Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has congratulated former Delta State Governor, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, on the occasion of his 68th birthday, describing him as a visionary leader whose contributions to the development of Delta State and Nigeria remain enduring.
In a goodwill message issued to commemorate the milestone, Dafinone said Ibori’s courage, vision and commitment to public service laid the foundation for the emergence of a modern Delta State.
According to the senator, Ibori’s legacy extends beyond physical infrastructure to include significant investments in human capital, inclusive governance and the empowerment of a new generation of political leaders.
He noted that the former governor’s contributions to democratic governance, national unity and the development of the Niger Delta have earned him a lasting place in the nation’s political history.
Dafinone also commended Ibori’s continued role as an elder statesman, saying his experience, counsel and commitment to peace, stability and progress continue to command respect across political and ethnic divides.
He further praised Ibori’s dedication to the growth of Delta State and his enduring commitment to the Urhobo Nation, describing him as a source of wisdom and direction for many.
“As you mark another year of God’s grace, I pray that the Almighty grants you continued good health, strength, wisdom and many more fruitful years. May He continue to preserve you as you provide purposeful leadership and invaluable guidance to our nation, Delta State and the Urhobo Nation,” Dafinone said.
The senator wished the former governor a happy 68th birthday and prayed for many more years of impactful service.
