The Delta State Universal Basic Education Board, (SUBEB) has announced an extension of the closing and opening date for bids on all recently advertised works and items across the state.

According to a public service notice signed by the Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Hon. Samuel Mariere, the exercise, which was initially scheduled to hold on Wednesday, February 12, 2026, has now been shifted to Thursday, February 26, 2026, by 12 noon.

The announcement applies to all projects and items earlier advertised in Vanguard and The Pointer newspapers on January 15, 2026.

The Chairman explained that the extension was aimed at giving prospective bidders additional time to adequately prepare and submit their bids in line with due process requirements.

“The Board has approved the extension of the bid closing and opening date to ensure wider participation and transparency in the procurement process,” he stated.

Hon. Mariere further clarified that while the date has changed, the venue for the bid opening remains the same.

“All bid submissions and openings will still take place at the Delta SUBEB Headquarters, Maryam Babangida Way, off Okpanam Road, Asaba,” he said.

The Board expressed regret over any inconvenience the adjustment might cause bidders and intending bidders, stressing that the decision was taken in the overall interest of fairness and accountability.

“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this change of date may have caused and appreciate the understanding and cooperation of all stakeholders,” the Chairman added.

He reiterated commitment to transparency and adherence to public procurement guidelines, urging all interested contractors and suppliers to take note of the new date and comply strictly with the bidding requirements.
