The Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA) has renewed its call for the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) to urgently commence rehabilitation works on federal roads across the state.

At Wednesday 19th November 2025 plenary, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, underscored the need for FERMA to live up to its statutory mandate, stressing that many Federal roads remain in poor condition and require prompt attention.

He acknowledged that the Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has already initiated reconstruction on several federal routes to ensure safe and smooth travel for residents and commuters. However, he emphasized that FERMA must act swiftly to address other failing portions that still pose significant challenges.

During the sitting, the House also celebrated Hon. Iyamu Aitenguoba Bright, member representing Orhionmwon II, on his birthday. He was heartily congratulated with songs and best wishes from the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, on behalf of all members and staff of the Assembly.

The House afterwards adjourned plenary to Monday, 24 November 2025.
