Under the Bendel State Traditional and Chieftaincy Law of 1979 , as applicable to Edo State, the only gazetted Ruler of the whole of the Edo South is the Oba of Benin .
The Enigies are not in any way gazzeted in the said law and only five Palace Societies with Chiefs are gazzeted in the Law .That Law has not been repealed and it is still the Law till today .Every Chief under the Oba of Benin installed by the Oba is a creation of Law .
The Enigies on the other hand , are a creation of the Oba of Benin ,like the Princes in England.are a creation of the King of England.
Former Governor Godwin Obaseki should know that Edo State is ruled by Law and not the whims and caprices of some despots .
The action of the former Governor of Edo State- Governor Godwin Obaseki was meant to undermine the Oba of Benin .
As a matter of fact , before he left office, former Governor Godwin Obaseki did not pay the Oba of Benin the money due to the Palace , but he paid the Enigies , the money with which they used in filing a case against the Oba of Benin , an abomination that has never happened in the history of the Benin Kingdom.
As Governor , former Governor Godwin Obaseki had monthly security votes , why did he not use the Security votes to reach out to any one he wanted to reach out to .The former Governor also budgeted for Security, what did you use the money for .
Do not fall for cheap propaganda,it was under Godwin Obaseki that they kidnapped a DPO in Edo State and under him that the Igueben Train Hijack took place .
It was under him a Reverend father was kidnapped and killed .
Under him cultists were counting scores ,which were the lives of people cut short.
