BENIN CITY — The Coordinator, Office of the First Lady of Edo State, Mrs. Edesili Okpebholo Anani, has urged transport officers to work closely with relevant government agencies to improve road safety and support ongoing reforms in the state’s transport sector.
Anani made the call when members of the Professional Transport Officers Association of Nigeria (PTOAN), Edo State Chapter, paid her a courtesy visit at the Government House, Benin City.
She commended members of the association for their support for the administration of Governor Monday Okpebholo and their contributions to the development of the state’s transport sector.
The Coordinator said the state government attaches great importance to the safety and welfare of residents, stressing the need for stakeholders in the transport sector to collaborate with government agencies to improve the efficiency and safety of transportation across Edo.
She expressed appreciation to the association for its visit and encouraged its members to remain committed to initiatives that would contribute to a safer and better-organised transport system.
The PTOAN delegation was led by its Edo State Chairman, Comrade Odion Umoru Odianose, while the association’s address was presented by its Secretary, Comrade Osayande Ogbeide Ihama.
In its remarks, the association commended Governor Okpebholo and Anani for what it described as achievements recorded since the inception of the administration.
The group also expressed its readiness to strengthen its partnership with the Edo State Government and reaffirmed its support for the governor ahead of the forthcoming election.
The association said its commitment to collaboration with the government was aimed at contributing to the growth and development of the state’s transport sector.
