Erezih Elected President General of Emevor Progress Union

The Emevor Progress Union (EPU) has elected a new leadership with Chief Emmanuel Erezih emerging as President General after ane election held on Saturday at the Civic Centre, Emevor, Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State.

 

Erezih, who is Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Beautification, was overwhelmingly elected by members of the union, and will lead a 10-man Central executive council expected to drive the developmental agenda of the community.

Other elected officers include Rev. Henry Khama as Vice President General; Mr. Harry Omoroh Oke as Secretary General; Engr. Odhodu Emmanuel as Assistant Secretary; Mr. Joseph Itoje as Financial Secretary; Mrs. Esther Utomakili as Assistant Financial Secretary; Mr. Paul Oge Ekpeto as Public Relations Officer; Mr. Ekwerigbe Isaiah as Auditor; Mr. Odiete Raphael as Provost 1; and Pastor Otobo Abisi as Provost 2.

 

The newly elected executive members were on Tuesday presented with certificates of return by the Delta State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Dr. Pat Ajudua, alongside senior officials of the ministry, in recognition of their mandate to lead the community body.

According to the electoral committee, the process was peaceful and transparent, reflecting the will of the Emevor people.

 

The swearing-in ceremony of the new executive is scheduled to take place in December during the community’s Annual General Conference, where they will officially assume office.

The Emevor Progress Union, one of the oldest community unions in Isoko land, has been at the forefront of promoting unity, development, and welfare of its people both at home and in the diaspora.
