The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced plans to shut down Terminal One of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, for rehabilitation and expansion works.
FAAN disclosed that the planned shutdown is expected to take place in March, approximately one month from now, as part of efforts to upgrade airport infrastructure and improve passenger experience.
According to the authority, the closure will enable comprehensive rehabilitation and expansion of the aging terminal to address structural issues and enhance operational efficiency.
FAAN assured airport users that necessary arrangements would be made to minimise disruption to flight operations during the rehabilitation period, adding that further details on the timeline and alternative passenger handling plans would be communicated in due course.
